Bristol Aquarium seeks Sales & Marketing Executive

Bristol Aquarium is a leading visitor attraction and is now recruiting for a Sales & Marketing Executive. 

The role
This is a varied and challenging role and your responsibilities lie both off site and on site and knowing the environment from which we draw our visitors will be an advantage. 

Hitting the ground running, you'll have the key task of devising a sales and marketing strategy in order to drive and grow visitor numbers. 

To be successful you will need to be:
* Taking a proactive approach to generating new business from domestic visitor markets, educational providers, corporate clients and tourists
* On the telephone, following up leads and referrals and looking to generate prospects and appointments
* Providing, refreshing and coordinating content for Bristol Aquarium's website

About you
We're after a driven, ambitious and outgoing person whose strengths are as equal in Sales as they are in Marketing.  Previous experience working in similar roles within the Leisure Industry would be an advantage.

Blue Reef Aquarium Newquay seeks; General Assistant - Beach Cleaner and General Maintenance Duties

Blue Reef Aquarium, situated in an idyllic setting on Towan Beach in the centre of Newquay, is looking for a pro active, customer focused individual to join us as a General Assistant. 

The Role
This is a varied and integral role in the aquarium.  Our Company is responsible for ensuring Towan Beach and Promenade is presentable at all times and is safe for all members of the public.  This is where you come in as one of your key responsibilities is to maintain the beach and promenade during your working day. 

When you're not maintaining the beach and promenade areas your responsibilities will be to carry out general maintenance duties in the aquarium such as painting and basic fixing of equipment.  Other duties will include serving our customers using the till system and generally interacting with them to ensure that their visit is a memorable one. 

This post is permanent and involves early mornings and early evenings and often includes working weekends and bank holidays. 

About You
It is essential that you have some general maintenance experience or qualification. 

Previous customer service experience from any customer based background will also stand you in good stead but above all we're looking for the right attitude, good communication skills and a personality that will put a smile on our customer's faces throughout their visit!

Deep Sea World seeks Aquarist/Diver

Deep Sea World is a market leader visitor attraction and Scotland's gem based in North Queensferry.  Our Aquarium hosts the largest temperate marine display in the UK through its underwater walkthrough tunnel.  Other displays include tropical marine, freshwater, reptiles, amphibians and marine mammals. 
The responsibility of the Aquarist/Diver will be varied, challenging, but extremely rewarding.  A hands on approach is required to ensure you achieve the highest standard of animal care and husbandry. 

You will be responsible for maintaining and developing all Deep Sea World's displays and exhibits, along with promoting public education and awareness in relation to conservation of biodiversity. 

In addition to this you will also maintain, clean, tidy and safe standards of all plant rooms; tool rooms, laboratories and quarantine facilities. 

The successful candidate will be expected to be very personable and able to communicate well with the visitors as you will be responsible for promoting and participating in public presentations and education sessions, as well as conversing with our visitors whilst carrying out your daily duties around the aquarium. 

The role requires you to take members of the public into our main tank (as part of our dive experience package), and to carry out shows and maintenance dives, it is essential that you are qualified to PADI Divemaster or equivalent and hold an in date dive medical. 

This is a full time post working on a rota'd basis which includes regular weekends and bank holidays as well as being on call for out of hour's emergencies.

Operations Supervisor at Hastings Aquarium

Blue Reef Aquarium Hastings is looking to recruit an experienced Operations Supervisor.
 
Reporting to the Park Director, you will play a key part in the leadership of this attraction.  A hands on approach is required as you will have overall responsibility for the daily operation of the business.  You will lead and motive a team of Front of House and Catering Assistants ensuring a quality of service is delivered throughout the attraction.  Responsible also for ensuring effective crowd control and customer flow; and any health and safety issues are dealt with in the correct manner. 

You should be comfortable managing budgets, headcount, payroll etc as you are people. 

Having an entrepreneurial outlook you will have the skills to grow existing revenue streams as well as growing new revenue streams, whilst focusing on the bottom line with the ability to maximise quality and profitability of business. 

A previous supervisory role in the leisure and tourism industry is desirable; the successful candidate should also have the ability to develop themselves and their team within this role.

Oakwood Theme Park seeks Finance Officer

This is an excellent opportunity to be part of the Finance Team within Oakwood Theme Park.  We are looking for a Finance Officer to head up the finance team. 

The Role
In season you will be responsible for a team of Cashiers whose main responsibility is for ensuring the safe and secure handling of cash on the Park and at the Bowling Alley.  You will direct your team to distribute and collect cash from the many outlets on the site and oversee the daily reconciliation of all cash.

Oakwood Theme Park and Bowling Alley is open from March to October 2012 and therefore when the park is closed your role will be somewhat different.  On a day to day basis the role is varied and you could be expected to complete a wide range of tasks such as:
 
* Assisting the Aspro UK Finance Team in their accounting duties
* Bank reconciliations
* Inputting purchase ledger invoices
* Reconciling and inputting daily cash/sales journals onto Sage Accounts.
* Other ad hoc duties when required
* General office duties dealing with phone calls, bookings etc.

The Requirements
The ideal candidate must have 1 year's previous experience of working in an accounts environment/cash office ideally within a customer-facing organisation.  Knowledge of an accounting package, for example Sage is essential as is being competent in designing and updating Excel spreadsheets.  AAT qualified or equivalent would be an advantage. 

Candidates should have accuracy, attention to detail and the ability to use initiative as essential skills as well as being self-motivated, a good communicator and able to work as part of a team.  You will also need to be organised, a hard worker and security conscious. 

This position would suit someone from a banking background.

Distribution Officer
Seasonal Fixed Term - Flexible Hours Available - To start employment the 1st Week in February

The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for you to play an important role in the Marketing and Commercial department ensuring that Oakwood Theme Park leaflets are the dominant visitor attraction leaflet across South Wales. 

Reporting into the Sales and Marketing Executive main responsibilities will include distribution of Oakwood Theme Park leaflets throughout the season across a wide variety of different location from TIC's (Tourist Information Centres) to Holiday Parks, from Service Stations to Pubs and Restaurants. Also carrying out targeted leafleting actions and promotional work off site is another key aspect of this role. 

The Requirements
A full clean driving licence is required for this role. Previous experience of using Excel is an advantage. We are looking for a hard worker who can work off site unsupervised - is unphased by driving a van  -and also has a great sense of humour and a real enthusiasm for meeting new people and upselling Oakwood Theme Park as the best attraction in Wales.

Customer Sales Host
Seasonal Fixed Term - Flexible Hours Available

The Role
This is an excellent opportunity to be part of the product selling team within our amazing Theme Park.  Do you have the flair to sell?  Have you got an outgoing personality?  Do you like being centre of attention?  Have you got what it takes?  Our aim is to create an incredible experience for our guests by offering an exciting range of products from a souvenir ride photo's to balloons and wet weather ponchos.  You will be part of a highly motivated team that drives sales both indoors and outdoors in various locations across the park. 

We are serious about giving our guests a fun day out so we will need outgoing confident people to effectively communicate with the guests whilst having fun in a professional manner.  Customer service is our prime focus so the role incorporates positive guest interaction along with upselling a wide range of products.

The Requirements
You will need cash handling skills, be target driven and have a real passion for sales and guest service.  You may have a performance background and possess excellent selling skills - full training will be provided.  Ultimately it's your great approach to guests we're looking for.  Remember, it's hard work but with every smile you get from a guest, the more rewarding the job becomes. 

Operations Supervisor
Seasonal Fixed Term 40 hours per week

The Role
This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a managerial role as a key part of the Operations Team within Oakwood. 

Reporting to the Deputy General Manager - Operations, you will be tasked with motivating and leading seasonal team members in Visitor Services and Rides.  You will be expected to deliver the highest standard of health and safety for any of our guests visiting the site and you will also lead your assigned team to provide the highest standard of guest customer service. 

The Requirements
Previous supervisory experience would be beneficial and experience in any fast moving guest service environment.  As safety is of key importance, you will be fully trained in providing guests with both a fun and safe visit.  You should be able to work towards Key Performance Indicators and able to feedback results to other team members and departments. Security

The Role
This is an excellent opportunity to be part of the Operations team within Oakwood Theme Park.  Your role will be varied and unlike any other security role in Pembrokeshire.  Working as part of a dynamic team you will be responsible for the safety of any guests maintaining our strict safety policies whilst also delivering world class customer service.

The role involves maintaining the security of the main car/coach park areas, ensuring the safety and security of the entrance tills, assisting with the cleanliness of the park and being responsible for the kennels.

The Requirements
Previous customer service experience from any customer based background will stand you in good stead.  We're looking for the right attitude, good communication skills and a personality that will put a smile on our guest's faces throughout their visit! SIA approved qualification is essential and although not essential, a first aid at work certificate would be desirable. 

Admissions Hosts

The Role
This is an excellent opportunity to be part of the Admissions Team within Oakwood Theme Park.  Your focus will be on ensuring fast and efficient entry to the park for our guests and delivering excellent customer service.  The team sell a range of ticket types and promotional offers to thousands of guests each day.  You need to be organised and guest focused.  The Park has a fun and friendly atmosphere and you'll be there to ensure our guests start their visit having a great time. 

The Requirements

Seasonal Cashiers
Seasonal Fixed Term - Flexible Hours Available

The Role
This is an excellent opportunity to be part of the finance team within Oakwood Theme Park.  We are looking for Cashiers to support the permanent finance team in taking responsibility for the cash on the Park.  You need to be organised, a hard worker and security conscious as throughout your shift you will ensure the safe and secure handling of cash, perform cash lifts across our many outlets and issue floats to them in the morning.  

The Requirements
You don't need any experience, although previous cash handling experience would be advantageous.  We're looking for the right attitude - someone who shows their initiative and has a common sense approach as well as showing real enthusiasm in working as a team and providing the customer with great customer service. 

Customer Service Host
Seasonal Fixed Term - Flexible Hours Available

The Role
This is an excellent opportunity to be part of the Visitor Services team within Oakwood Theme Park.  Your focus will be to provide the key first point of contact for incoming calls, post, enquiries or guest feedback on the park. Situated in the busy reception area of the park you will also act as a focal point of communication for all departments for information and organising any tasks that arise. You will also be tasked with some admin work for ASPRO UK. 

The Park has a fun and friendly atmosphere and you'll be there to ensure that each call or enquiry you take illustrates this.  You therefore need to be organised and guest focused. 

The Requirements
You don't need any reception experience, although previous guest service or telephone experience would be helpful along with the right attitude, good communication skills and a personality that will put a smile on our guests' faces. Experience of working in an environment which demands several tasks to be done at once would be advantageous as Oakwood provides a very unique and dynamic environment.  

Cleaners
Seasonal Fixed Term - Flexible Hours Available

The Role
This is an excellent opportunity to be part of the Operations Team within Oakwood Theme Park.  You'll be responsible for ensuring that a high standard of presentation is achieved throughout the Park whilst interacting with guests, offering directions and assisting them in enjoying a magical day out. 

The Requirements
To ensure a high standard of cleanliness is maintained throughout the buildings, grounds and toilet facilities, the role involves cleaning toilets, wash hand basins, floors, emptying bins around the Park and ensuring the Park is clean and looks presentable at all times.  You are also tasked with making sure supplies are readily available so you need to be well organised. Experience working within a service or cleaning related industry would be advantageous and you need to be able to work without supervision and to a planned cleaning schedule. 

The role will involve shift work outside of the normal opening hours to ensure the park is presentable before opening and you will be required to start earlier or finish later than other staff on park - because of this own transport for this role is required.

Catering Team Leader
Seasonal Fixed Term - Flexible Hours Available

The Role
This is an excellent opportunity to be part of our Catering team within our amazing Theme Park.  Our fast paced Park food and beverage operation is looking for Team Leaders to support the permanent team in ensuring the team delivers outstanding service and quality food from our many catering outlets across the Park.

Reporting to the Catering Manager you will be tasked with motivating and leading a team of Catering Assistants to deliver excellent guest service and drive the highest service standards.  You will manage the day to day operation of designated outlets, helping ensure your restaurant achieves high scores on food hygiene audits and that you are always delivering a quality product in an efficient yet fun way. 

The Requirements

Catering Assistants

The Role
Enjoy the unique experience that Oakwood Theme Park has to offer, by assisting in the running of the Catering outlets within our amazing Theme Park.  You'll be responsible for serving food and drinks to our guests. The number one aspect of your role will be to deliver high standards of guest service, whilst ensuring a clean and safe environment is kept and assisting the business to comply with hygiene rules and legislation.

Stores Person
Seasonal Fixed Term - Flexible Hours Available

The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for you to play an important role in ensuring that all stock goods coming into the Park get to where they need to be on time.  So if you are a stickler for attention to detail and are organised, then this is the job for you. 

Main responsibilities will include distribution of stock to all Food & Beverage and Retail Outlets, receiving goods into the stores area, picking stock orders and assisting in stock counts.  You'll be trained in all Health & Safety and operational procedures to provide an efficient and friendly service to the resort.

Grounds Person
Part Time - Flexible Hours Available

The Role
This is an excellent opportunity to be part of the Grounds Team within Oakwood Theme Park. The role includes ensuring that a high standard of grounds presentation is achieved throughout the 80 acres of our picturesque Pembrokeshire Park - assisting with such duties as grass cutting, tending for and watering on-site planting, keeping pathways clear of debris, mowing of grass, and pruning around the Park.
 
The Requirements
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager you will be required to present Oakwood in the best possible way during the season and ensure that Oakwood's Key visual landscape areas are maintained to the highest standard. Oakwood is looking to develop and plan sustainable boarders and features within the Park and you will be part of the planning and maintaining process. Knowledge of gardening and seasonal flowering would be of benefit and a the willingness to undertake any reasonable task relating to the upkeep of the park.
