Guided Tours - A member of our knowledgeable team of aquarists can accompany your group on a fun, fact-packed tour around displays, identifying creatures, their habitats and highlighting unusual features.

EDUCATIONAL VISITS at Blue Reef Aquarium
Blue Reef welcomes over 30,000 school children every year to discover more about marine life. 

The aquarium provides a fun learning opportunity along with plenty of great visual entertainment and we are also involved in a number of conservation and captive breeding programmes for a variety of species. We offer guided tours, which can, with prior notice, cover specific curriculum topics including everything from Art to Habitats to Shapes or Pollution.

These tours are led by trained aquarists with expert knowledge of the displays and their inhabitants and really help to bring the topics to life. See our education pages for more information. 

YOUTH TOURS & PLAYSCHEMES at Blue Reef Aquarium
Why not take your youth group on a trip to Blue Reef - you could choose a theme from Pirates to a 'Finding Nemo' tour or alternatively - ask about our special events programme ranging from Shark Week at Whitsun to Mini Sea Monsters for October Half Term and join in our special tours and workshops. 

LANGUAGE SCHOOL TOURS at Blue Reef Aquarium
Over 25,000 language school students visit Blue Reef every year. It's a great addition to any programme of activities with the added attraction of a guided tour.  The aquarium also provides a fun learning opportunity along with plenty of great visual entertainment. As well as the displays area, Blue Reef has an attractive café serving a variety of hot and cold food along with a well-stocked gift shop with something for all ages.

BROWNIES / CUBS / GUIDES / SCOUTS at Blue Reef Aquarium
Blue Reef welcomes many groups from the scouting and guiding movement.  Tours can be individually tailored to meet specific work on a wide variety of badges and can even be arranged to take place during your normal meeting time.  

KIDS GO WILD TOUR
Educational but fun tour of the aquarium including a special feeding demonstration, ugh touch boxes, rockpool encounter and quiz trail.

PARENT & TODDLERS at Blue Reef Aquarium
Why not have your next parent & toddler session at the aquarium, a special rockpool encounter can be arranged guaranteed to interest toddlers and the aquarium is specially designed so even smaller ones in push-chairs still get a great view!   

The aquarium is a safe and controlled environment with lots of visual stimulation for youngsters of all ages and our talks programme really help to bring the whole experience alive.

Morning tea packages can be arranged, and the aquarium has a microwave, baby changing, baby food etc to make the visit easy, as well as fun and relaxing.

MYSTERY COACH TOUR to the Blue Reef Aquarium
Surprise your coach passengers or group with our special mystery tour. A guided tour round the aquarium, with a special feeding demonstration, followed by tea in our delightful café. Includes carrot /sponge cake & pot of tea/coffee, guided tour and feeding demonstration.

UNDERSEA GARDEN TOUR
A special guided tour around the aquarium looking in particular at the amazing variety of undersea flower-like fauna, which adorns the oceans making them such a colourful experience for divers around the world.  This is a close up look at these amazing underwater gardens.

CHRISTMAS AT BLUE REEF

MULLED WINE AND MINCE PIES
Enjoy a very warm welcome at Blue Reef Aquarium this winter.  Christmas is a great time to visit the aquarium and escape for a few hours from the winter cold and gloom.

Spectacular tropical displays will transport you to another world and help you forget all about that dreaded Christmas shopping! Enjoy a guided tour of the aquarium followed by a glass of hot mulled wine and a warmed mince pie in the Blue Reef Café.

CHRISTMAS PARTIES AND TOURS FOR CHILDREN
Enjoy a tour around the aquarium followed by a festive snack and gift for all. You could even pick a theme for your Christmas Party; from Pirates to Nemo.

CREAM TEA TOUR  
A guided tour followed by a clotted cream tea     

WINTER WARMER
A guided tour followed by hot, home-made soup and a filled roll. 

EVENING TOURS
We are also available as a venue for evening events. This includes guided tours,and a visit to our café - we can also accommodate groups who would like to use the aquarium as  venue for meetings.  Packages are tailored to meet each group's specific requirements.  Please contact us for more information.

ADDITIONAL WORKSHOPS
Our interactive Rockpool and Shark Workshops provide a fun and educational finish to one of our themed tours. 

ROCKPOOL ENCOUNTER
Take a closer look at the fascinating miniature world of the rockpool and the tough creatures that call it home.  Under the close supervision of our education team, pupils can enjoy close encounters with crabs, starfish and other marine life form around our coast.

SHARK WORKSHOP
Separate fact from fiction in this fun introduction to the secret world of sharks.  Learn about the amazing variety of shark species living in the world's oceans and around our own shores.  This workshop aims to highlight the positive side of sharks and showcase their super skills and senses.

TOURISM / MARKETING / BUSINESS STUDIES WORKSHOP
For students using the aquarium as a basis for GCSE or further education studies.
