Welcome to Blue Reef Aquarium

Blue Reef is part of an exciting new generation of sealife attractions designed to inspire deeper understanding and appreciation of the natural world.

Blue Reef Aquariums are situated in Southsea (Portsmouth), Tynemouth on Newcastle's coast, Tyne and Wear, Newquay in Cornwall and Hastings on the East Sussex coast.

We want to show you all the fantastic creatures that live in our seas and oceans. Our displays take you on an undersea tour; from the British coastline to faraway tropical reefs and lots more in between.

During your visit, you'll come face to face with incredible sealife with everything from giant crabs and lobsters to seahorses and tropical sharks and you'll get a chance to find out more about these creatures' amazing lives in over 40 naturally recreated displays.

At the Aquarium's heart is a huge ocean tank where an underwater walkthrough tunnel offers incredibly close encounters with the stunning beauty of an exotic coral reef - home to hundreds of colourful fish.

Blue Reef is one of the UK's leading aquariums with a commitment to providing education about the marine environment but in a fun and entertaining way. Our aim is to highlight some of the natural wonders of the underwater world and help explain why it's so vitally important to look after them.

Regular talks and feeding displays make the aquarium an unforgettable day out for families - whatever the weather.

We are a baby-friendly family day out with multi-level viewing and facilities in the café include a microwave for warming food.
